Some upcoming dates to keep in mind...

State Fair will be held in June - so just a reminder that each child (they know about this!) will need a shoebox.  So if you plan to buy spring shoes, please save the box for this project.  The boxes can be sent in anytime!  We also use wrapping paper to cover the boxes so if anyone would be willing to donate some to our class it would be greatly appreciated!  :)

Immigration Day Family Tree Project Information: 

Packet AND Family Tree project due by Monday, April 30th.

I explained the project, as well as the packet, with the class today and showed them some examples of family tree projects (see the links below for more examples) from basic trees to more detailed ones....  Please let me know if you have any questions or if the directions sheet or any part of the packet gets lost and you need a new one...

Report cards are coming home today - please sign and return the envelope.  The report card is yours to keep.  Please let me know if you have any questions....

Clothing Drive is this week - Emma Conkey (middle school) is the Ambassador for this program which is collecting clothing for the over 300,000 children in Massachusetts who are homeless or living in poverty.  If you plan to do any spring time purging of clothes, this is a great cause to do it for! 

Square 1 Art orders are due this Friday.  However if you are ordering on line the due date is April 5th.

PARENT INPUT SHEETS FOR NEXT YEAR ARE ALSO COMING HOME TODAY.  HARD TO BELIEVE WE ARE THINKING ABOUT 5TH GRADE ALREADY!  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FILL OUT A FORM, PLEASE DO SO BY APRIL 13TH AND RETURN IT TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR CHILD.

Yearbook order forms are also coming home today.  These can be done though the school or on line and are due on April 13th.

Southwest test is next Wednesday - study guides were sent home on Monday....

ELA MCAS for our class is next week on Tuesday and Thursday.

Immigration Day is coming up!  May 4th.  Volunteers are needed to make this day a success - online sign up will be coming out soon....

Also, each child will need a cereal box (to make a "suitcase") for this day so feel free to send one in the next time you finish a box and we will set it aside.

April vacation is the week of the 16th.

1/2 Day for students on April 26th.

Reminder:  Our PJ drive ends this Friday.  Thank you so much to all who have donated pajamas so far!  The students are welcome to wear pajamas on Friday to school!  No slippers are allowed.

OUR SCHOOL PJ DRIVE BEGINS NOW UNTIL DECEMBER 8TH!  PLEASE SEE THE LINK ABOVE FOR AN EXPLANATION OF THIS FANTASTIC PROGRAM DURING THIS SEASON OF GIVING!  OUR CLASS WATCHED IT TODAY AND WE ARE ALL VERY EXCITED TO HELP OUT CHILDREN IN NEED FOR SUCH A GREAT CAUSE!  

This is of course optional but any pajamas in any size would be greatly appreciated!

AS A FUN ENDING FOR THIS DRIVE, THE STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO COME TO SCHOOL WEARING THEIR PAJAMAS ON FRIDAY, 12/8!!

A few reminders...

Our field trip to the aquarium is on Monday.  If your child is not buying a lunch from the cafeteria (order forms went home with the permission slips), then they should bring a bag lunch from home.

We will be visiting the gift shop there - if your child wants to bring in money to purchase a souvenir, there is a $20 limit (which includes tax).
